Hye-ri Lee / Chapter 2, Part 5 A 2 Draft 2 / Wed 1-2

  <My definition of Love>

  We have heard so many stories of love in literatures, poems, movies and various parts of world, like love between princess and prince, between a beauty and the beast or parents and children. It made me wonder wether there is love only between man and woman(between people). If love existed in not only people but something like objects or activities, then how can we define love?

  Before talking about definition of love, I want to explain precondition of love that I define. I think that 'love' exist anywhere; in your families, your boy(or girl) friend and even your favorite things like singing a song, drawing pictures, seeing stars in the sky and so on. In other words, there is not always love only between people.

  We might feel love from impressing things that make you pleasant and you consider as meaningful. And we might decide our future or dream job according to what we love. Then, we can try to do our best to achieve our goals. Definitely, there is not only pain but also love in this effort. For example, there was a girl who really enjoyed playing the piano. So she wanted to be a pianist. And then, her feeling toward the piano motivated her to practice over and over again for improving her talent. For these efforts from her love, she become a great pianist. That is, love is emotional motivation to make her dream come true.

  So, I think that the world is full of love. Great inventions, impressing arts and touching miracles in the world have resulted from love that motivated someone to do his or her best. For instance, New Renewable Energy might be developed by love for protecting earth or studying science. Also, beautiful and comfortable buildings might be built by passionate love for architecture.

  Therefore, love affects individuals and furthermore, those individuals affect the world. In this aspect, I defined love as emotional motivation to endeavor for our lovely future that we really hope and guide us to our desirous world.
