What is love? It is too hard to clarify the notion of 'love', but I dare to define what love is. Love, whoever is in or however the situation is, is the factor that make people understand others. In this sense, the word 'love' is not necessarily bound to the eros, which is a kind of love and means sexual love between two people, but other loves such as agape—unconditional love, especially of the God's— and philia—friendship—.
Love enable people to 'try' to understand other people. I, or we should all admit that we are all born differently, and grew up in unique situations. Each person are individual object who has colossal mind-universe within. We meant to misunderstand others. It is the curse on human being, and the fate of us. However, as long as it is so hard to understand others, to know one's history, present and future is a lover's prestige. We are longing for being exceptional, then we try our best to know lovers' everything and be the one who can understand the one. So in this cruel world that each individual takes each other wrong, love's existence make others matter. As I mentioned above, to understand is tough, so we should put effort on understanding others if we are in love. To quote my favorite author, 'making effort for other, the action itself, makes our lives valuable'. The strong feeling of love make human beings to think about others, guess what they like, understand —although it is impossible to understand the whole of other individual— how they think and act, and be better person because they are in love and all they want to is to navigate the beckoning universe of the loved one.
Hi! This is Hayeon Jin! Thank you for sharing your deep idea about love. For me, I could not answer the question "What is love?". However, as I read your essay, I learned what love is. Plus, I liked the part where you cited a quotation. It was very appropriate. The only suggestion I can give is that it could have been better if you divided your second paragraph into two because it is too wordy for one paragraph. However, I really liked your essay!

It is quite great to look up others' writings and see what others are thinking, too.
