Definition, Write your definition of love.
There are many kinds of love in the world. Love for country, love for friends, love for fashion, love for religion, and so on... But, I will only write about love between lovers which is the usual thought that we conceive when we heard love.
Scientists said that feeling love is just the effects of the hormone. And evolutionists and some philosopher like schopenhauer said that love is just the mean for preservation of the species. Is it all about love? Well, I don't want to admit that, but I can't say they are liar or they are wrong.
Objectively, I think they are right in some way. But I don't think that they said everything about love. Because there are some exceptions like loving someone who were already dead or enjoying platonic love which means 'a meeting of minds without contact'.
Love is so abstract that we cannot define the love in objective ways. But the one thing we exactly know is 'love makes happiness'. we long for love because we know that we will be happy when we are loving. Therefore, we can conclude that love is good thing which makes happiness.
We are born to be happy and normally want to be happy. The Constitution of modern civilized nations gives people the right to pursue happiness. That means the constitution admit and assure the people's desire to be happy.
In conclusion, we can say that the definition of love is : "One of the ways to reach happiness that we are pursuing"

ReplyDeleteI love that you introduced the idea of the abstract, and how you gave the raw and realistic definition of love before moving on to your own definition of the word, it's a very good writing strategy especially when it comes to defining. If something I could recommend, maybe make your transitions a little bit more clear so that it's more fluid ? Other than that very good writing. Thank you for sharing ~

I think it's so good because this introduction can emphasize your opinion by contrasting theirs and yours. And your topic is same as mine, but your opinion is so different from my opinion. Hello I am Hyobin Jeon. I read your writing interestingly because your main idea is very similar to me. I didn't write abour this topic(actually I wrote my idea about second topic) because I think that we can not define love at one word or sentence. And this is very similar to what you wrote above.
