2.What causes a friendship to break apart?
Friendship refers to the intimate connection we have with other people aside from our family members. Unlike kinship, friendship is optional. We can never build it unless we work on it by spending time together with intention. This means that friendship can end. Among various causes that break the friendship, betrayal and indifference are the two common reasons.
One of the most immoral reasons that break off the friendship is betrayal. We can divide it into two types, one being the material and the other being the psychological betrayal. Money is usually related with the former one. For instance, the betrayer could sever contact with the friend after borrowing money or let the friend to stand surety for him. Aside from such fraud, psychological betrayal takes much place in our daily life. Spreading rumors or talking behind the friends' back is part of it. Such betrayal totally breaks the trust between two parties. Trust is the most important factor in maintaining healthy relationship. Thus, betrayal has the strong power to break apart the friendship.
Another common reason that ends friendship is indifference. There comes a time when two parties do not start caring and thinking about each other. There are many reasons that cause such indifference. The most powerful cause is 'out of sight , out of mind'. If they live too far from each other, they will rarely spend time together. Naturally, they will have lesser and lesser common interests. Plus, they would be busy going out with other friends living near them. Then, their contacting frequency will then get lower than before. I am not saying that all the friendship of people living far from each other will end. However, it will at least put their connection and unity in danger.
Friendship is like a sensitive cat. We need delicate care if we want to bring it on. Even there are many disturbance that threatens the friendship, we should keep exerting effort to maintain it. Spending time together or contacting often is the best way to strenghten the friendship. Plus, treating each other with integrity is essential.

But, I think, if you more cleary explained why it is like a cat with example or comparing, it would be better at understanding what you mean. And I think your phrase, 'out of sight, out of mind' is proper and memorable expression. I read your essay really interestedly.
