Take a notice for our trust
What is different between friends and strangers? The one criteria that we usually use for dividing them is "trust" about them. We also classify our friends and acquaintances by estimating our degree of trust. However, because of our standard like this, we can be in trouble when we make a false friend. Because we believe our friend's advice or saying with having some trust, we would make an error or misjudge something that is very important to us.
Francis Bacon, An English philosopher, leave a quotation that warns about making false friends. The quotation is this : "A false friend is more dangerous than an open enemy" I guess he already knew the people's attitude about friends and wanted to advise that we should take a notice when we make a new friend. I agree with his opinion. We need to follow his advice because if we don't care about whom we meet, we may face a worst situation that we cannot believe even our best friends in the end.
You might think that I exaggerate the risk about having a false friend. However, You should know that false friends lead you a worst situation above. That's because when you more closer to your false friends, you would be more far away from your real friends. So, your side will be filled with false and bad friends not a true and good friend. And someday you realize your situation, then you will recognize the cause of your troubles. At that time, you will notice that almost all of problem comes from your false friends. Finally, you cannot trust your friends whom you have believed. Anyone don't want to face an above situation. That's why we should follow Francis Bacon's advice.
Because we all already know that enemies are always harmful, I would not argue about the danger of enemy. But I clearly want to say that as enemies or even more then them, false friends are bad for us. Therefore, please be careful when you make a new friend.
